Meridian clues!

Here’s a fun one for today’s #meridianmonday for you… the body will tell you what’s going on, although it might not seem obvious at first.

The very reason that Kinesiology can help you balance out your health, emotions and all kinds of issues is because we use muscle testing to talk to the body.

The body indicates what and where the issue is, as well as the best remedy to regain balance. How good is that?

Sometimes, and probably more often than you think, your body will demonstrate physical manifestations of meridian imbalances.

I’m not sure if it was a bite or a pimple or something else (check the photo above). However it was a bit touch and go for a hot minute! The pain was running up my arm to my collarbone, and the redness and swelling was growing.

After treating it with an activated charcoal poultice for a couple of days, it’s much better. But not completely resolved yet.

This is something I spoke about in my recent guest speaker spot… that healing is never isolated to one dimension of your body. Nothing is ever just physical, or just emotional or spiritual etc.

However an issues begins, there’s always an impact and a knock-on effect in other dimensions, too.

Once it was no longer causing me horrible pain and the swelling had gone down, I started paying attention to what else was going on.

This spot on my forearm is between the Lung 5 and Pericardium 3 meridian points. In this case, it’s got more to do with the Lung meridian, which I’ve been resolving issues with ongoing for a few months now.

I did some reading about the Lung 5 point to gain more context about what might be going on, and it connected it to a time in my childhood, which I discovered via muscle testing.

Around the age of 7, I broke my left arm (both the ulna and radius!), and what I discovered is there are some old issues from that time that are now resurfacing. This isn’t unusual… often our body takes years to allow old patterning to come to the surface!

This information became the basis for my investigation of how to resolve the icky thing on my arm!

I’ve gotta confess… this is far from the first time my body has used physical manifestations to bring something to my attention.

As you can imagine, as an adult I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about when I broke my arm by trying to do a run-up on-handed cartwheel on the neighbour’s front lawn.

In my experience, the more sensitive we are to our energy and this world, the more likely we are to experience these sorts of “sign posts” that something needs our attention.

Now, at home, you might not know how to use muscle testing. But you can look up where a physical issue corresponds to a meridian line. You can use your intuition and a “gut feel” to determine which meridian is the one to work with (the more you do this, the clearer your gut feel gets).

You can also use your intuition, oracle cards or your preferred method of tuning into yourself to work out what you need to do to help resolve things emotionally, mentally, spiritually and/or physically.

There’s a fantastic website and app called “A Manual of Acupuncture” that you can use to understand where meridian points are.

As a starting point, you can hold the points closest to the physical issue to help get your energy moving. You can also work with the points either side of the issue, too. You might also like to do some journalling around whatever comes up for you as you reflect on what the issue might be related to.

After all, the final step in the healing process is bringing it to your conscious mind and finding a peaceful resolution for the trauma or wounding you may have experienced previously.

So play around. You might be surprised to discover how much you can support your own body and healing processes just by paying attention to what’s going on and where on the body.

Much love,
