Self Loathing vs Self Love - Amanda Roberts | Kinesiology | Melbourne

‪#‎self-love‬ vs #self-loathing

I’ve been mulling over this topic for a few weeks, and unsurprisingly, it’s been popping up in the clinic. Of course.

Self-love is a HUGE topic

It’s not just for the so-called woo woo spiritual types. This is a serious deficiency in our cultural mindset!

The way I see it, from my vantage point of talking to and working with people from many different walks of life…is that our society in general is sub-consciously focused on self-loathing and by extension, loathing of others.

Say what?! But it’s true.

This is about the pervasive but hidden belief that most people have of “I’m not good enough”

This has to do with our focus on certain achievements in life being the definition of success. Are we smart enough at things our world says are important? If not, we’re not good enough, right?

And it has to do with the focus on physical appearance, and the perceived value and importance of what we look like. Are we cute or handsome? If so, we’re much more interesting in the eyes of so many. I mean, there are people who are pretty much famous because they’re physically beautiful for farks sake!

AND this very much has to do with the insidious hatred of women in our culture – with attitudes that are continually perpetuated by both genders!!

Women can be just as accountable as men for holding each other to standards that are unreasonable.

Forgive yourself

So…what this means is IF we’d like to transform our self-loathing to self-love, we must first of all let ourselves off the hook for any judgements we hold about ourselves.

Because those judgements are 100% fear-based

They 100% come from a place of dissatisfaction and loathing.

And…we can’t transform all of that while we continue to act like asshats towards ourselves, can we?

Next up: We need to investigate where in our life we’re acting from self-love vs self-loathing and deliver ourselves a mother-loving Spring Clean. Yes!!

As we know, Spring Cleaning is a process

If we try to do it all in one hit then we end up exhausted, right?

So it’s best to consider it a process in forgiveness, awareness and patience.

We didn’t loathe ourselves from the moment we were born, but we have been doing it for a long time, so it can take a while to shake out all the cob webs.

And that’s okay.

Your life counts. Your life matters. And you are worthy. You do deserve to live a life of fulfillment and happiness.

But first? You gotta Spring Clean the Self-Loathing, yeah?

These stress statements and sabotages regularly come up for clients

It's safe to be in this body, it's safe to be in this life, I count, I matter, I deserve good things

I use them in clinic a lot – we call them either stress statements or sabotages in Kinesiology terminology.

And for many people, some/all of these are relevant. So, so, so many peeps would benefit from investigating unresolved issues around these themes… all relating to self-worth and self-love.

But also deeper than that – it can go back into core messages you absorbed as a child, in-uetero or even in past lives!

Gorgeous people, we’re here with a message and a life purpose! We must shine our light to support the evolution of our world.

As I was discussing with someone recently… who are you to NOT shine your light and share your gifts?

Kinesiology is BRILLIANT to help you Spring Clean your self-worth/love issues!

If any of the above resonates for you, I’d love to have a chat to figure out how I can help you.

So get in contact if you’d like to schedule a call, OR you can book an appointment – use the online booking system or contact me me to get things sorted.

You matter. You count. And I look forward to seeing you shine your light!

Much love,
