Imagine if you can, the life of a single molecule of water. The mysteries of such existences are not usually the musings of humans.
But consider… every living thing contains a spark of the divine. Every thing is an aspect of this experience of creation.
What does freedom feel like to a water molecule?
Water can take so many forms: evaporating, falling from the sky, being part of an ocean, a lake, river, pond or a puddle of mud, and so many more. It exists as one of the many.
In the ocean it flows with the tides and waves, directed by the moon and the wind. Bumping up against seaweed, shells and sand. Moving in and out of the bodies of ocean-dwelling creatures.
It has no say in the waves that it rides. Or does it? There’s a sense of timing and perfect placement involved.
How does a wave form, and who gets to ride?
Does a water molecule have a preferred experience?
Freedom is perhaps best defined as being in flow, regardless of state or condition. Of being integral to your Self: whether gas, solid or liquid.
Does anything feel restrictive to a molecule of water? Perhaps, but it might not be what you think it is.
Would it mind being in a glass of water? Evaporating? Boiling? Being held in a water filter? Imbibed by a human? Perhaps not, because where is there not a state of flow?
Consider too, that the flow of an ocean’s wave began long before its journey of pulsation through the sea.
And just maybe… the wave continues as it becomes sustenance for a human, animal or plant?
Then there’s the deathly slow march of a glacier. Frozen water, rocks and plants dancing on the earth in each other’s embrace.
A glacier looks stagnant if you observe it for a few moments only. But we know they move! Is that not also flow?
How do we define freedom and flow, then?
Our mind can’t always comprehend the cosmic interplay at hand.
Humans are comprised mainly of water. Our bodies obey the cycles of the moon, too.
What is freedom to the water molecules within our form?
How do we regard ourselves, especially in times of stress and crisis? Where are we not free?
It helps I find, to return to the source
As close as you can get. Let the outer trappings of life fall away.
Return to your component parts, and listen for the pulse or rhythm or frequency. A song of everything you recognise as “Self” (there may be many such songs)!
Have you ever considered the minute aspects of consciousness that create the form you recognise as you?
Your freedom lies within
No matter the external play of life, and what it’s serving up.
When you realign with Source, you’re inviting new pathways into your state of flow.
It’s always your move, anyway.
Much love,
