You’re not broken, you don’t need to be fixed

This is a REALLY important message I’d like you to get crystal clear on.

It’s super-close to my heart, and I’ll admit that writing this caused me to get all leaky-eyed.

Why?

Coz this isn’t just a message for you! It’s also for a younger version of myself…

I’ve been mulling over this topic, as I listen deeply to my clients and others I meet and talk to.

It’s vital as you embark on your healing journey to get this straight:

  • You don’t need to be fixed
  • You aren’t “problematic”
  • There’s nothing “wrong” with you
  • Healing from what hurts is absolutely NOT about fixing, saving or improving you
  • And, Kinesiology? Again, definitely NOT about fixing you

Coz love, you’re not broken

That’s right. Even when life feels less than comfortable or easy.

Or if…

You feel like the wheels have fallen off the Cart of Life.

Your relationship, job and/or friendships have exploded/imploded.

You’ve crashed your car, or you’re super-worried about something.

You’re going through extreme loss, or grief or chronic illness, or you feel like you’ll never be happy or “normal” (whatever that means!).

{Or… all of the above}

Even then, I promise you darlin’, you’re not broken.

You’re simply experiencing opportunities to let go and grow

Here’s an analogy for you…

If you’re carrying super-heavy grocery bags around, after a while you feel their weight acutely. After a little more time, they start to hurt.

But hey, you know that you can always put down those heavy bags. Take a breather. Shake out your arms.

Of course when it comes to yourself, you might (or might not) notice that you carry and hang on to Just. So. Much. Baggage.

Don’t you?

All the stress, fear, worry, anxiety, pressure, pain, sorrow, grief, depression… etc. Everything that’s ever hurt you in your life. You tell yourself it’ll never be over. That you won’t ever recover.

(Hint: as long as you tell yourself you can’t ever recover/be over it, then you CAN’T!)

For some reason, you FORGET that you don’t have to carry all of that with you.

You’ve forgotten, too, that all that stuff isn’t really who you are, and you assume… there must be something wrong with YOU. That you’re the problem!

But that just ain’t so.

You’ve simply assumed that you must bear life’s burdens and include them as a part of your identity.

You tell yourself you can take it, that it’s not that bad.

That actually, life would be boring if you didn’t have “stuff” going on (would it really be, though?!).

You don’t need to be fixed!

You, Gorgeous Human, are NOT a to-do list of “problems” waiting to be fixed and crossed off.

You’re not faulty, needing to be returned to the manufacturer!

Got a sore shoulder?

It doesn’t need fixing – it needs understanding. Why is it sore? What can we do to release the need for the soreness?

Living with anxiety on the daily?

You’re NOT defective, your body’s just trying to tell you something important, and it’s raised the alarm bells to Mach 12. Yikes! But we can uncover the layers of messages that got you there, and defuse those alarm bells.

Feeling like you might burst with worry or fear?

There’s no problem inherent in who you are. You just need an outlet for all of that pressure. A way to release the tension, the fear and find a bit more space and freedom within yourself.

See, it’s always like that

There’s always a reason why something’s happening with your physical, emotional, mental or spiritual health. Nothing happens “just because”.

All we really need to do is understand what happened, why your body is doing what it’s doing, and what it needs in order to release the freak out.

Coz, most of the time… our “stuff” is really just our sensitive, beautiful body, mind and spirit trying to cope with stress.

And those freak outs? Tend not to let up until we listen and get back to alignment with our needs.

So, you’re not broken. You’re just out of alignment in some way(s).

Your potential is right there inside you waiting to be liberated

I wrote this on a comment in my Facebook group:

As you grow up, no one teaches you that your thoughts create your reality, or that you can make the effort to change your thoughts, beliefs and fears.

So you have MUCH more experience buying into your fears than you do believing in your ability to create change in your life!

When you think about it like that, is it any wonder you don’t believe in yourself? That you feel stuck and trapped?

However, there’s an epic amount of creative potential within every cell of your body:

  • Your body replicates cells tirelessly, day and night for your entire life
  • Your skin heals, your blood clots
  • You’ve got the ability to create and grow another human being
  • There’s an incredible amount of wisdom and intelligence in your body!

Now, this next part is important…

You always have a choice to believe negative things about yourself, or not.

Even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.

You’re just a little rusty with the self-belief at the moment, AND really experienced in the negative self-talk arena.

So you might need a little help untangling the negative and untrue stories and messages you’ve been swallowing about yourself for most of your life.

Does that makes sense?

This is what I do for you in your Kinesiology session

I facilitate change, growth, and the space for you to gain new awareness about yourself.

I DON’T fix you. I don’t see you as a problem.

I help you remember you can let go of those heavy bags you’ve been carrying.

I see you as the potential that you are.

And I’ll celebrate right along-side you, as you begin to see the truth of your own potential, too.

  1. To be honest, I’ve not been paying attention to the things around me lately, too wrapped up in trying not to extinguish my life. This caught my attention like a slap in the face. I have a lot to do today, but I’m putting “Read Amanda’s other posts” on my list!
